The theme of the 23FW collection is inspired by the works of Ben Nicholson.
Upon encountering his art, the key words that surfaced were: layering, shadow and light, line, geometry, and color blocking.

Born to artist parents, Nicholson was greatly influenced by his father, William Nicholson, a still-life painter. Ben began his career creating still lifes and landscapes, but later developed a distinct style shaped by Cubism and Post-Impressionism, eventually evolving into abstraction. His work is notable for blending elements of both abstract art and surrealism.

Throughout his life, Nicholson sought to delicately control the experience of flatness—an exploration of spatial tension without depth.
Soft, boundaryless tones.
Overlapping lines and geometric forms.
Subtle plays of shadow and relief expressed through sculptural techniques.
His restrained yet poetic methods created a quiet, lyrical contrast within his compositions.

This 23FW collection draws inspiration from those very qualities.
The layered silhouettes, carefully constructed lines, and tonal compositions within the collection reflect Nicholson’s artistic language—translated into garments that embody his refined sensibility.




23FWのテーマは、Ben Nicholson(ベン・ニコルソン)の作品がインスピレーションの源です。彼の作品を見て連想したキーワードは「 重ねる」「 陰影」「 線」「 幾何学」「 カラーブロッキング」。ベンの両親はともに芸術家であり、父ウィリアム・ニコルソンは静物画家でした。父の影響を受け、当初はベンも静物画や風景をメインに描いていましたが、その後ベンはキュビズムやポスト印象派の影響を受け、抽象画を描いていくことになります。抽象アートとシュルレアリズムの両方の要素を含むのもベンの作品の特徴です。ベンは生涯を通して、”フラット”な構造を繊細にコントロールすることを試みました。境界線を持たない、柔らかな色彩。シンプルな線や図形の重なり。彫刻(レリーフ)によって表現された凹凸の陰影。様々な技法は穏やかでありながら、叙情的なコントラストを生み出しています。そんなベン・ニコルソンの作品からインスパイアを得て、23FWのコレクションをデザインいたしました。
